Public Accommodation
The Gardens were developed by the
St.Anne's-on-the-Sea Public Accommodation Company, formed about
1876. Most of
the shareholders were shareholders in the St.Anne's Land &
Building Company.
The
Public Accommodation Company planned initially to construct
a skating rink, croquet grounds, archery grounds, bowling green,
shrubberies, fruit gardens, Italian gardens and entrance lodges.
Future plans included billiard rooms, a concert hall and
conservatory.
