Left to right—Henry Cotton who finishes fourth and first man for England ; Sam King, fifth—a most noteworthy performance for he suffered throughout the Championship following an operation to his ear ; Fred Daly, who led the field into the final round ; Gene Sarazen.

Standing—E. G. Lee, Captain, Royal Lytham ; Bobby Locke ; Captain Lees, acting secretary, Royal and Ancient ; Henry Turcan ; Harry Bentley ; Alex Kyle.

Seated on the board, Gerald Micklem and Colonel Charles Hezlet, Chairman of the Championship Committee, who congratulated all who contributed to a memorable meeting, was behind the Secretary and just missed
the camera.
